UNEVEN EYEBROWS AND EYELASHES
Thin, uneven eyebrows and eyelashes is a common aesthetic problem.
Some causes of uneven eyebrows and eyelashes include:
- Asymmetric expression muscles pulling one eyebrow higher.
- Medical conditions (hypothyroidism, chronic liver disease, stroke, Bell's palsy, etc).
- Years of plucking and tweezing, destroying hair follicles.
- Thermal or chemical burns/scars, causing hair follicle damage.
These treatments include:
- Cosmetic makeup/pencils for temporary correction.
- Botox® or fillers injection to correct muscular asymmetry.
- Semi-permanent eyelash extensions (last up to 3 months).
- Hair-growth products stimulating follicle growth. Latisse is the first FDA approved drug to promote eyelash growth, available by prescription. Latisse users can expect to get longer, fuller, and darker eyelashes in as little as eight weeks, with full results in 16 weeks.
- Permanent makeup (or micropigmentation) a safe and completely controlled method of applying pigments beneath the outer layer of the skin (similar to tattoo). Vita is proud to introduce Sharon Grasso, licensed permanent makeup artist with over 12 years of experience, who brings permanent makeup to the level of the art. She is a member of the American Academy of Micropigmentation and an Instructor teaching Permanent Makeup at The Long Island Nail and Skin Care Institute. Sharon also works with The Cancer Foundation helping many people who have lost eyebrows after chemotherapy. Visit her website Permanent Touch Cosmetics for more information.
- Hair transplant to replace missing eyebrow follicles.
Most of these treatments can be safely combined for superior results. We take a series of digital pictures during your consultation to evaluate the nature of the problem and assess the results of any intervention. Call today for your free consultation to find out which treatment is best for you.
